Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:

ICELANDIC ATTENDANCE

1.  (SBU) EmbOffs discussed Iceland's attendance plans for the 64th 
UN General Assembly with Greta Gunnarsdottir, head of the 
International and Security Affairs Directorate at the Icelandic MFA, 
on August 5.  Gunnarsdottir said that Iceland's plans have not yet 
been finalized; however, she was able to share preliminary thoughts 
on who would be attending.  Gunnarsdottir expects Iceland to send a 
three person delegation consisting of the Foreign Minister, the 
Political Advisor to the Minister and herself.  It does not appear 
as though Iceland will be seeking high level talks with U.S. 
officials, and the entire Icelandic contingent is expected to leave 
shortly after the Foreign Minister addresses the General Assembly. 
 
A. The Icelandic Head of State, President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, is 
not/not expected to attend UNGA. 
 
B. The Icelandic Head of Government, Prime Minister Johanna 
Sigurdardottir, is not/not expected to attend UNGA. 
 
C. The Icelandic Foreign Minister, Ossur Skarphedinsson, is expected 
to attend UNGA. 
 
--Name and Title:  Ossur Skarphedinsson, Foreign Minister. 
 
--Arrival and Departure Dates:  Exact arrival and departure dates 
are unknown; however, the Foreign Minister is expected to leave 
shortly after addressing the General Assembly on September 26.

expected to attend. 
 
--Interpretation needs:  No interpretation is necessary. 
 
D. There are no/no VIPs from Iceland expected to attend UNGA. 
 
E. The Foreign Ministry official responsible for IO affairs, Greta
