Understanding cables

If you find meaningful or important information in a cable, please link directly to its unique reference number. Linking to a specific paragraph in the body of a cable is also possible by copying the appropriate link (to be found at theparagraph symbol). ADD HYDROFLUOROCARBONS TO THE MONTREAL PROTOCOL REF: STATE 95899 (U) On September 24, Econoff delivered ref demarche to MFA Environment and Sustainable Development Department Counselor Amr Abdel-Wareth regarding the U.S-Canada-Mexico trilateral proposal to add hydrofluorocarbons to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that deplete the Ozone Layer. Abdel-Wareth, who started his position less than a month ago, said he would review the proposal and share it with his colleagues. He indicated that planning is under way for the November Montreal Protocol meeting in Port Ghalib, Egypt and that the Prime Minister and Minister of Environment are scheduled to attend.
